We are a community of purpose. This purpose drives all of our choices for ministry and program. It stands as the plumb line for how we move forward in the achieving of our vision.
“The purpose of the Green Community Church is; ‘to bring people to Jesus and membership in his family, develop them to Christ like maturity and equip them for their ministry in the church and their life mission in the world in order to magnify God’s name”.
The Green Community Church is a community that has committed to a vision for it’s future. There are a number of segments of this vision that we have already seen come to a reality, but there are others, though initiated, have not been fully realized.
Our vision included and has realized the hiring of a full time pastor to lead us in the vision and its realization. We have also realized the vision of a midweek AWANA program that is now expanding to include middle and preschool aged children.
Our vision includes reaching 350 new people and including them in our community by May 2011. We have each had a commitment to reaching at least one person in the calendar year that began in October 2007. We have seen an increase of an average of 30 people each Sunday since last August.
Our vision includes a worship service that is contemporary and relevant as a way of enabling our ability to reach a new generation for Christ. We have in place a team for leading our worship and a new leader that is moving our worship to new levels of excellence.
Our vision includes the development of 30 ongoing small groups for the discipleship and community building of relationships. We have started this initiative, but will be pursuing it and growing it as there are persons interested.
A Mid-week study for those not able to participate in the Sunday evening small groups. The shape and content of this will be defined by the needs of those who might attend.
And finally our vision includes a commitment to quality discipleship. We hope to recruit 20 additional teachers to disciple our adults, students and children to new levels in their walk with God.
